Night exposure tool

This is the only post on this blog without a photo.

From the start, every photo here has come with its settings. A habit I keep because it tells you what's happening behind the image, not just what's in front of it.

This tool is the next step. Pick the kind of motion you want (ghost, dynamic, sharp) and the depth of field that fits your scene. You get the matching aperture and shutter speed, with notes on what to watch for.

The values are a starting point, not a verdict. They assume night street photography with a typical walking subject, so adapt them to what you're shooting. And if you have to choose between a photo with imperfect settings and no photo at all, take the photo.
